Hidden in the Shadows
i am
hidden in the shadows
of my own
fear
not bold enough
to expand my horizon
and ride the
roller coaster
of life
simply because
i
am
afraid
i am afraid
of that feeling
when your
heart jumps
to your
throat
and butterflies
flit around
in your
stomach
and you look
down and
calculate
the eye widening
distance and
exhilarating speed
and i wonder to
myself
why i am
afraid while
others are
not
but now i realize
it is right to
be hesitant
and think
before i act
so when the
cons outweigh
the pros
i can laugh
at those
who rode
the coaster
and stay
hidden in the shadows
of my own
wit
